Where to Find Great Design Inspiration
As graphic designers, we all need a constant supply of inspiration to make sure our brains are brimming with ideas and concepts. Not only do designers need inspiration at the start of a project, but we also need a constant supply for our day-to-day lives.
Because we’re always hunting for new places to find this much-needed inspiration, I wanted to put together a list of the top websites I use on an almost daily basis.
Let’s get into them…
Dribbble
Dribbble is an online, invite-only community for designers to showcase their work. Because you can only gain access to share work on this platform through an invite, everything you see is very high quality. It should be noted that you don’t need to have been invited to browse content, only to post your own work.
Behance
Behance functions in much the same way as Dribbble, but with one key difference: Behance isn’t invite-only, meaning that if you like what you see, and want to get involved yourself, you can do so right away! If you’re just looking for inspiration, you’ll find everything from photography and videography to web design and illustration on Behance.
Abduzeedo
Despite the funky name, Abduzeedo is one of the go-to websites for finding inspiration for all types of design. Abduzeedo is a blog that curates a steady stream of stunning design work from creatives all over the world.
Awwwards
If you’re a web designer, you’ve no doubt already heard of the Awwwards, but if you haven’t… The Awwwards are a competition that searches for the most talented and skilful web designers and developers, showcasing some of the most amazing projects from all over the internet. There’s also a helpful blog that’s packed full of tools, guides and much more.
There’s no way you can have used the internet and not have found yourself on Pinterest a few times. Believe it or not, Pinterest is one of the most powerful tools when it comes to finding inspiration for your projects. Simply searching terms like “graphic design trends” will yield plenty of results from all over the internet, as well as give you some more relevant search terms.
Ah, trusty Instagram. With so many designers looking to use Instagram to grow their brands and get their names out there, it’d be a crime not to include it on this list. Because there are so many designers constantly posting new content to Instagram, it’s often the first place emerging trends will make an appearance. I highly recommend you have a look through Instagram when in need of design inspiration!
Conclusion
There are so many places online where you can find amazing graphic design inspiration of all types, but having all those options can sometimes leave you feeling lost as to where to start. With this list, I wanted to give you all the places I regularly find myself when on the hunt for design inspo!
If you have another place that you regularly find yourself when searching for inspiration for your projects, please do let me know!
